Thank you for your interest in an interpreter position with

If you are fluent in English and another language, with at least one year of recent, professional, industry-specific interpreting experience, you may be interested in working with us! As an independent contractor, you can specify your availability and work from the comfort of your home.

Applicant Requirements

  • Oral and written proficiency in English and the target language(s)
  • At least one year of recent, professional experience interpreting within one or more of the following industries: Healthcare, Call Centers, 9-1-1 Emergency Services, Insurance, Government, Utilities, Financial, or Telecommunications
  • Strict adherence to Interpreters’ Code of Ethics, Standards of Behavior, and Confidentiality Pledge
  • All candidates must pass a criminal background check prior to being contracted with Pacific Interpreters

Hiring Process

  • Fill out an application online.
  • Once your application is received by the Recruitment Department, you will be contacted within five business days.
  • If you qualify for an open position, we will contact you for an interview and screening in your target language(s). The test will cover medical terminology (for related industries), conversion skills, language skills, the Interpreters' Code of Ethics, and professional interpreter standards.
  • Upon the offer of an active contract, we will invite you to join an orientation by phone, which will take approximately 60 minutes.
