Applicant Requirements
- Oral and written proficiency in English and the target language(s).
- At least one year of experience interpreting within the medical industry.
- Professional academic education related to translating
- Professional affiliations (preferably ATA)
- Strict adherence to Pacific Interpreter's Interpreter Code of Ethics, Standards of Behavior, and Confidentiality Pledge.
- All candidates must have U.S. citizenship or possess a valid work permit.
- All candidates must pass a criminal background check prior to being contracted with Pacific Interpreters.
- Internet access, e-mail, and fax.
Hiring Process
- Visit our job opportunities page and complete the application. A complete application packet will be sent to you by mail or e-mail.
- Once your application is received by our Recruitment Department, you will be contacted for a brief interview within three business days.
- You will be contacted to do a 30–50 minute language test by phone in your target language. The test will cover medical terminology and Professional Interpreter Standards.
- You will be mailed an orientation packet and contracts.
- We will contact you to join an Orientation by phone. Each orientation takes 90 minutes.
